It's Not What I want, It's What He Wants... Honest.

We were at the party store last week getting the last few things we needed for Mia's birthday party when we passed by a little, brightly colored, plastic parrot on a swing.

Lennon: In a silly little squeeky voice "Take me to the restaurant with you."
Me: "What?"
Lennon: "That parrot is saying, 'Take me to the restaurant with you.' Can we?"
Me: "No, we're not getting that parrot."
Lennon: "Please, take me to the restaurant with you. Take me to the restaurant with you." He wants to come with us.

Of course, it wasn't that Lennon wanted the parrot, the parrot himself really, desperately wanted out of that party store. He was clearly craving Mexican food.

The Show

The Scene: Four adorable children sitting in tiny little chairs at the side of the road in front of a big, old house. They're selling cookies and water. $0.50 for cookies $0.25 for a cup of water. Mia is getting lots of attention over her broken arm with a bright pink cast. Two simple balloons taped to a basket that contains the cookies, napkins and cups are the only items on the table. The salespeople are eating and drinking the merchandise at a slow but steady pace. The sale is going swimmingly. All the cookies have sold and they are closing up shop. Lennon shouts some request which I deny sort of only half knowing what he asked for. Suddenly, we all turn around and look up the steps to see quite a sight. A tiny little blonde cherub...completely naked! He was doing a funny little dance and singing about being naked. We all laughed until he turned his back to us and started peeing. Right on the walkway up to our house. Right in the front yard. Off a busy street during rush hour. Fully nude. Nothing says bake sale like a little boy peeing on the sidewalk.

Mia's Arm Update

We're going back to the orthopedic doc tomorrow for more x-rays and most likely a cast. She's planning on getting a pink cast, but it will all depend on what we can get that is waterproof. She's still in a lot of pain and taking either ibuprofen or tylenol pretty much around the clock. Poor little girl is being really cool about it though. She's barely slowed down at all. We have to constantly remind her not to run and be quite so crazy. From what I hear it will be easier after the cast is on. Not sure cause I've never had a broken anything, but I guess we'll figure it out tomorrow. Stay tuned...

Silly Little Lennon

Lennon new favorite thing to do is play Go Fish. What he enjoys even more than getting matches is simply getting to "go fish." He gets completely excited and almost shaking says "What am I going to get?!" Then he goes on to list four or five possible cards he might get from the go fish pile. He is super silly too and will sometimes ask another person if they have a fan or a go fish pile or something else he happens to spot while thinking of what he's going to ask them for.

He's been singing and dancing a lot lately. He makes up silly little songs and laughs hysterically at himself as he sings them. He loves the new Alice in Wonderland and especially loves the Bandersnatch character who he wants to be for Halloween.

After watching Jackson saying the pledge on Hillary's blog he started trying to learn it himself. He always wants to do everything Jackson is doing. He now knows it really well, but about half the time I ask him to say it he says it in jibberish. And at the end of the pledge every time he shouts "Play ball!"

Almost every vegetable he eats lately he comments that the reason he is eating it is because it will make him grow so big so he can ride all the rides at Disney World.
