So... moving with a toddler is crazy. My head is still spinning. Mia left last Thursday, we moved out of Kennedy on Friday. The movers were working from about 8 30 until just after 2 and they got most of our stuff out of the old house and into the new place. Then Shelby and I kept working after Lennon went to bed. We gave Claire and Walderi the monitor and went back to Kennedy to finish packing up the last odds and ends and cleaning the whole place from top to bottom. We went to bed that night around 3 30. We didn't get much sleep. The following nights have been much better, but most every waking moment has been consumed with trying to find our stuff that is all neatly packed away in boxes, replacing broken doorknobs, trying to get someone over here to finish hooking up our dishwasher, washing dishes by hands (which neither of us is particularly fond of), trying to help Lennon come to terms with the fact that, yes, this is our new home and we will not be going back to the old home and much, much more. Lennon, as I just mentioned, is having a bit of trouble with the idea of the move. He keeps saying "old house, down. new house, up high." Or sometimes he just says "old home, more, more old home." And of course he is asking about Mia constantly. Especially at night time. The living room and kitchen are mostly done other than wall hangings, but other than that the beds are all put together and in their proper places, but that is about it. It's really difficult to get to Lennon's room for two reasons. Any time I open a box of his stuff he screams and cries, "no, no no no no!!!" while throwing himself on top of the box and asking for our old home. And I really am just much more productive when he is napping or sleeping for the night.
We all miss Mia. I was super psyched today to realize that our time apart is half over. Woohoo!!! I just want to make sure her sweet little pink room is going to be all set up when we all return together in June.
Pictures are coming soon hopefully. I've definitely taken lots with the new camera. Thanks for the hook up btw Noah!! You rock!
